1. Cheugy is a slang adjective mocking someone or something as “uncool”—they are out of touch with current trends or trying too hard to be trendy. Similar slang terms are basic or normie. The word cheugy is often used ironically.
2. A rock band from San Francisco, CA, trying to be cool since November 2023, and consisting of Stefan Elbl (bass guitar), Charlie Castillo (Drums) and Julio di Mama (Guitar and vocals).
3. Cheugy is a music sausage that stuffs hard rock, grunge and punk. It welds heavily distorted power chord riffs with melodic phrasing, intense vocals and animalistic drum beats, for an energetic milieu that delivers messages of discontent and oneiric hope.

Stefan Elbl
Bass guitar and vocals
Stefan Elbl (Bass and Vocals) hails from Santiago, Chile. He started playing music at age 10 and has participated in multiple projects as a singer, guitarist and bassist. He has written and recorded 7 solo albums, and has been a band member for Stanford’s MBA musical.
His influences include: Faith No More, The Who, David Bowie, Los Prisioneros, Grand Funk, Neil Young and Soda Stereo.
Charlie Castillo
Drums
Charlie had music in his life as soon as he could walk. He started playing drums at 13, growing up with Latin Cuban rock pop and disco influences in South Florida. His musical taste ranges from country to metal.
His favorite drummers are Ringo Starr, John Bonham and David Grohl. His main musical influences are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden and Nirvana.
Julio di Mama
Guitar and vocals
Julio di Mama was born in Mexico City. He has played guitar in rock bands for 20 years. He is a YouTube musician and content creator, and has released four albums as a solo guitarist.
His guitarist influences include Nuno Bettencourt, David Gilmour and Marty Friedman. Julio plays Yamaha, Fender and Ibanez guitars.
